1)     Treasurer’s report: Barb (?) will get the numbers to Harry earlier than before so he can key in the information and keep the report in excel.

2)     New sleds purchased, thank you cards read. Some of the letters will be put on the parent group web page and the new Parent Group Newsletter.

3)     S. Waite’s book request approved.

4)     Teachers will be reimbursed for their PTO Allocation ($100 for full time teachers, and $50 part time teachers/staff) instead of being issued checks.

5)     For the playground we need to see what really needs to be done before asking for funds. Unsure if this is our job or for site council. Because of snow we will wait until we can see the grounds.

6)     Aluminum can recycling collection will now only be done at events. There will no longer be Saturday drop-offs.

7)     BCE parent page, updated weekly or monthly by Traci Shissel. Suggestions welcome for content.

8)     Culver’s night will continue throughout the year. Dates will be posted.

9)     Need a volunteer for website updates.

10) Volunteers for School Info Fair, February 2^nd @ Roy Wilkins. 9:30 – 2:00, need volunteers to call the office. The number of people who call will determine the length of the shifts. This needs to be announced.

11) Ordering BCE apparel will now be done by Rich Bornt (thank you!). We hope to have a few new items before the end of the year: sweatshirts, new colors for tshirts and a backpack.

12) Tshirt and Turtle Sales at Math and Science Night, January 24: fifteen tshirts and over $50 of the hand-painted miniature ceramic turtles. We also took a casual survey about which colors people (mostly students) wanted for new tshirts and sweatshirts: T-Shirt Colors: Pink 19, Green 25, Purple 10, Light Blue   29. Sweatshirts: Yellow 1, Pink 3, Green 4, Light Blue 4, Black 4, Red   5, Purple 1.

13) Family Picnic will probably be at BCE or the rec center because of limited availability at Battle Creek Regional Park. This will be on a Friday evening to help ensure higher teacher and staff participation, probably 5:30-7:30. Once Bev figures the date, we will announce to have volunteers sign up for the event.

14) Free dental day, February 1 and 2. This will be on the parent page website.

15) Short discussion of spring fundraiser possibilities: plant, bake or food sales or a walk around the pond for pledges.

16) BCE won the 2006-2007 School Improvement Award for the district. BCE is one of thirty-five schools getting the award. Way to go!

17) School tours will be offered on Fridays. Parents will also be invited to school events, such as the open house, science night, etc.

18)  Upcoming events: February 11^th is the next parent group meeting, and February 21^st is Family Literacy Night.
