Minutes from meeting October 13, 2008

· Treasurers Report: Harry provided update of the old account with the school about $11,439 remains. New account has $6,309 to date. The monies in the old account were allocated to pay for the Kathryn Beich fundraiser. The yearly teacher stipend will be come out of the new account, when we receive our profit from Kathryn Beich.
· Principals Report:
o Battle Creek Environmental Magnet has 575 students currently enrolled.
o Eleanor provided information regarding some vandalism that was happening at the school after hours. She did a walk-through of the grounds and building with a safety person and some steps have been acted on. There were some bushes removed or cut back, and lights around the school will be on a timer and shut off at night. Making changes slowly so that our school is less inviting to those that vandalize.
· Kathryn Beich (fundraiser) orders will be in Wednesday, November 5th.
· Letter of Resolution was postponed until the November meeting.
· Math and Literacy night is scheduled for October 23rd, 6-7:30pm. There is not a lot of stock left for T -shirts so there will not be table at this event.
· Kindergarten trip to Apple Orchard: the bus fee is pending, it has not cleared the old account as of yet. Harry will watch for this transaction.
· Parent Group Newsletter: See to translate into Hmong. Thanks to Traci Schissel.
· T-shirts:
o Rich Bornt to set up order forms, Deborah will copy them for Friday folders.
o No new logo for BCE, but perhaps a T-shirt contest?
o Check into T-shirt stock. What happened to all of the bins?
· When is Culver’s Night? Deborah will speak to Elizabeth Pavlak.
· Lita Hermann will be the BCE contact for the Target Field Trip Grants. $800/class.
· Bev Sellie will help maintain the front Bulletin Board, with help from Ms. Laska, Mr. Ckhristian, and Ms. See.
· The next Site Council meeting is December 4th at 5:45 pm. They are looking for new members.
· The next Parent Group meeting will be November 10th at 6:00 pm.
