Welcome to Room 202!
Hello! My name is Lisa Arcand and I have
been teaching kindergarten in the St.Paul schools for 10 years. I
received my teaching degree from Concordia University and my Master's degree from Hamline University.
I am so happy to be teaching here at Battle Creek Elementary school. We
are fortunate to have a beautiful park right outside our back door for
exploring, playing, and learning about our environment.
I believe
children learn best in a positive, supportive environment where each
child is accepted and nurtured along their individual learning path. My
goal, as a kindergarten teacher, is to make their first formal school
year fun, engaging and full of interesting learning experiences.
Philosophy of Teaching: Kindergarten Team
We believe that all children can learn!
• We want learning to be joyful, full of movement, music, and positive interactions. • We provide many different hands-on experiences for our young
learners using concrete materials and manipulatives.
We want our young learners to respect all: themselves, others, and our world.
• We want students to make good choices and become independent learners.
•
We promote opportunities for involvement by families in the learning
process through weekly homework, daily book baggies, and family night
programs.
• Battle Creek Elementary Magnet School is a great place for kindergarten learners!
