To gain access to special education programs and support services, children must first be evaluated by a Child Study Team. Teachers or parents can initiate an evaluation. When appropriate interventions are completed by the classsroom teacher, permission for assessment will be obtained from the parents. After the assessment is completed a meeting will be held to analyze the results and to determine if support services or placement in a special education program is appropriate. Parents and guardians are essential members of the child study team and are directly involved in all decisions regarding their child.
